Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

The UK Government have adopted a new ‘National lockdown from Tuesday 5th January. As part of these restrictions you can still attend places of worship for a service. However, you must not mingle with anyone outside of your household or support bubble.

The Churches of Sherwood Forest are in ‘National Lockdown: Stay at Home’ to help control the virus.

Everyone must stay at home and only leave for a limited set of reasons.

The government have set out a roadmap as a step-by-step plan to ease restrictions in England cautiously. starting with schools and colleges on the 8th March 2021. Further easing is planned on the 29th March 2021 to allow the Rule of 6 or two households outdoors, subject to the government’s Four Tests for easing are satisfied. All Saints, Clipstone and St Mary’s, Edwinstowe have decided reopen for ‘COVID-19 secure’ public worship from Palm Sunday on 28th March 2021. St John’s, Perlethorpe will remain closed.

Other forms of worship and public services will also be available going forward through Holy Week. It is also hoped to stream St Mary’s ‘in church’ services, via the Churches of Sherwood Forest YouTube Channel: https://http://tinyurl.com/youtube-csf

Please also note the official UK Government guidance for face visors or shields.

A face visor or shield may be worn in addition to a face covering but not instead of one. This is because face visors or shields do not adequately cover the nose and mouth.

Therefore, a face visor or shield would not be considered an acceptable face covering while attending church.
